This is a quiet, family-oriented peninsula on the Parramatta River, once nicknamed "Struggle Town" and now a steadily upmarket waterside address in the City of Ryde.

All three tend to show the same early sign: a drain that empties a little slower each week rather than stopping all at once. Getting someone to look at that stage is usually cheaper than waiting for the full blockage.

The lowest streets around Kissing Point and Morrison Bay sit close enough to the water to feel tidal and stormwater pressure at the same time.

A big Sydney storm doesn't need a king tide to cause trouble here. Heavy rain alone can back up drains faster on this ground than it would further from the river.

It's one more reason a CCTV inspection is worth doing before a recurring problem turns into a habit.
